Committees – Service Award

5 years service Bronze Badge (engraved 5 years service)
10 years service Bronze Badge (engraved 10 years service)
15 years service Silver Badge (engraved 15 years service)
20 years service Silver Badge (engraved 20 years service)
25 years service and above Gold Badge (engraved 25 years service or more)

Instructors – Service Award

5 years service Plaque – 6×4 (engraved 5 years service)
10 years service Plaque – 5×7 (engraved 10 years service)
15 years service Plaque – 6×8 (engraved 15 years service)
20 years service Plaque – 7×9 (engraved 20 years service)
25 years service and above Plaque – 10×7 (engraved 25 years service or more)

Instructors – For a Club Service Award for Instructors, service will commence from the date the practical test has been passed.
Membership – It is the responsibility of the Member to notify the GSDCV Secretary, in writing, of their years of “continuous membership” to receive the GSDCV badge/plaque.
25 years continuous membership (Verified by Club Membership Officer) – Silver Badge (engraved 25 year member)
30, 40, 50 or 60 years continuous membership – Plaque – 10×7 (engraved with number of years of continuous service)

 

*Nomination for Committee and instructor Service Awards should be submitted to the GSDCV Secretary by January 31st each year.

 

GSDCV Special Service Awards

Life Membership

The Life Membership is to cover continuous membership over many years (in excess of 20 years, i.e. a life time) of outstanding, extraordinary service and dedication to the Breed and the Club.

Award to be framed certificate and a gold badge (engraved “Life Member”).
Special gold embossed Membership Badge to be issued by the Club Membership Officer.
The award/s will be presented at the GSDCV AGM.

Nominations with resume to be forwarded to the Club Secretary no later than 30th November of the year preceding the AGM.
The nominations will be forwarded to the GSDCV Executive and 2 Life Members who will determine whether the candidate meets the criteria. Emphasis must always be on maintaining the integrity and prestige of the awards.

These awards will not necessarily be presented each year, but only when considered applicable.

A maximum of only two (2) in each section can be presented in any one year if there are suitable applicants.
While fifteen (15) and twenty (20) plus years of service are suggested respectively for these awards, the timeframe will be at the discretion of the Selection Committee.

 

Outstanding Service Award

The Outstanding Service Award is to cover an extended period of continuous membership (15 years plus), demonstrating OUTSTANDING service to our Club and/or the Breed.

The definition of outstanding is standing out, conspicuous, striking and above and beyond the call of duty.

Award to be a framed certificate and gold badge (engraved “Outstanding Service Award”).
The award/s will be presented at the GSDCV AGM.
Nominations with resume to be forwarded to the Club Secretary no later than 30th November of the year preceding the AGM.

 

Special Recognition / Achievement Award

This award caters for the person who has proved to do something EXTRAORDINARY for our Club and/or the breed.

The definition of extraordinary is remarkable, exceptional and outside the normal course of events.

This award caters for the person regardless of the duration of their membership who has some major, positive impact on our Club and/or our Breed.

This award can also be given in extraordinary circumstances to non-member persons / dogs / organisations, e.g. a police dog etc.

Award is to be a plaque depicting the purpose of the award.
Nominations with resume to be forwarded to the Club Secretary no later than 30th November of the year preceding the AGM.
