Tending (herding) Clinics coming up !!!

TENDING CLINICS (x2)
TWO CLINICS FOR TENDING DOGS WILL BE HELD
1. OCTOBER 19 AND 20, 2013

An introduction to the Tending style of herding will be held over this weekend at Double K Herding Training, Nyora, South Gippsland.
Alexa McGauran, the only Victorian competitor in this sport, who has trained her German Shepherd Dog to Advanced (including High In Trials at all levels) will be conducting this clinic.
Tending is a particular style of sheep management and is still practiced in western Europe, particularly Germany and France. It is the innate herding style of the dogs of these areas. Currently in Australia GSDs, Briards, Belgian Shepherds, Swiss Shepherds and Bouvier des Flandres are competing successfully.
If you are interested in your dog‟s working heritage and think you would like to participate in this ANKC sport contact Alexa McGauran alexamcgauran@yahoo.com or 0418357917
The cost of the clinic is $30 per day, including light lunch. The cost of observing is $5 including light lunch. Travelling time from the city centre is 1.25hrs
2. NOVEMBER 9 AND 10, 2013
Anne Mitchell (Qsld) will be holding a Clinic at Nambrok (near Sale) for Tending dogs. Anne has trialed several Briards to Advanced and her Dual Ch (Herding) Cacharel Utzano HSAs HXCs is the first C Course Tending Champion in Australia
This is an excellent opportunity to build on prior experience with a large flock sheep. Dogs that have already trained in the tending style as well as newcomers are most welcome.
The cost of the clinic is $50 per day, including light lunch. The cost of observing is $5 including light lunch. Travelling time is 1.5 hrs from Berwick or 2.15 hrs from the city centre.
