The German Shepherd Dog Club of Victoria Inc. (GSDCV) value the contribution in time that the Lort Smith Animal Hospital vet and animal nurses give to provide health checks for dogs competing in the annual GSDCV Endurance trial.  (This is a requirement during the actual competition for the health and well being of the animals competing) and the GSDCV donates all money raised at the endurance trial to the Lort Smith Animal Hospital to provide this health check service.

This year, Lort Smith Animal Hospital advised the GSDCV that the hospital badly needed stimulation goodies to provide for the mental health welfare of the dogs and cats in its care.  After hearing of the need for toys and other items to provide stimulation to the dogs and cats awaiting new homes, GSDCV members from the 11 branches around Victoria have undertaken a "goods drive" to donate more money and provide a range of stimulating toys, animal bedding and cat scratchers.

These donations will be presented at the Lort Smith Animal Hospital on 2 December at 1pm by Dom Cafari, the President of the GSDCV and Marilyn Wrigley, Chairperson of the Obedience Training Committee accompanied by some of the German Shepherd Dogs and their handlers who competed at the recent Endurance trial.
