Changes to GSDCA Elbow Dysplasia Control Scheme

Re: Changes to the criteria for animals to be awarded the German Shepherd Dog Council
of Australia (GSDCA) ā€˜Zā€™ stamp.

At the 2010 GSDCA AGM held February, and after discussion and approval at the 2009 National Breed Commission Meeting, the following motion was subsequently carried:

That as from 1 September 2010 those animals that receive a Grade Two grading through the GSDCA Elbow Dysplasia Control Scheme will only receive a GSDCA ā€˜Zā€™ stamp if the measurement of arthrosis is less than 3mm.

This motion comes into effect on the 1st September 2010, which means that any animal assessed with 3mm or more of arthrosis on any elbow will be deemed to have failed the GSDCA Elbow Dysplasia Control Scheme and therefore will not be able to be presented to the GSDCA National Breed Survey Scheme.
