The GSDCV's RCH Tram Face is on the Tracks!!

In support of the Royal Childrens Hospital Good Friday Appeal
The GSDCV have a tram face ! and for those in the Malvern, Brighton or Carnegie areas, keep an eye out for the GSDCV tram and our banner (on 1 side or the other). It is Tram 2049, running on routes 3 (East Malvern), 64 (East Brighton) and (Carnegie) 67. Yarra Trams says the best way to find our tram is to download the Yarra Trams tramTRACKER app on your iPhone and enter the tram number into the “Onboard” function. Happy Tram spotting - look out for tram number 2049 !!

Junior Handlers Workshop April 2012

The April Junior handlers workshop was again a success for the 2 young handlers who attended. They had a great chance to hone their skills and pick up some tips for showing their dogs. Well done to both for their excellent efforts!!! Next Junior handler workshop is June 3 at 12.30pm at KCC Park. Come along, get involved!


2011 Breed Survey Book Avail for Purchase

The GSDCA wish to advise breeders/exhibitors/owners that the 2011 Breed Survey book is now available for purchase.

The Breed Survey Book is a record off all animals who have achieved Breed Survey Classification during 2011.

For those attending the 2012 National Show & Trial, if you pre order copies these can be picked up at the event.

After the National, Breed Surveyors and State Breed Survey Coordinators will have copies of the Breed Survey Book for sale, however pre order will ensure members get a copy.

Long Stock Coat Classes at the National Show

Long Stock Coat classes at this year's GSDCA National Show will now be available. The closing entry date has now been extended.
*Please note this applies ONLY to LSC animals which have already been assessed and had their registration transferred before the close of entry.

The GSDCA Executive together with the Newcastle & Hunter Region German Shepherd Dog Club, host club of 2012 National GSD Show & Trial (National) provide the following infromation to members:
1. ALL Long Stock Coat (LSC) Classes are now offered at the National for registered LSC.
2. The closing date for entry has been extended by 1 week with ALL entries now closing on 25 April 2012.
3. Entry of LSC as with Stock Coats (SC) will ONLY be accepted if they have been registered on the Main Register prior to close of entry: 25 April 2012.
4. There is an opportunity for registered LSC entered in the Open LSC Classes that is over 2 years of age and meets the criteria to be presented to the GSDCA National Breed Survey Scheme at the National. Please note the pre National Breed Survey will be held at 300 pm, Thursday 17 May, at the National venue.
Application must be made to Secretary, N&HRGSDC by no later than 10 May 2012.
5. The Dog Judge will judge all LSC classes on Friday 18 May prior to judging Stock Coat (SC) Classes. (As per a recently passed 60 day motion).

GSDCV collects $37,333 for RCH Good Friday Appeal

NEWSFLASH ! The GSDCV has collected a grand total of $37,333.00 for the 2012 Royal Childrens Hospital Good Friday Appeal !!! Thanks to everyone who helped and contributed !

Thanks go to Bernie Lester, Dom Cafari and Lyn Pickering and the rest of the Western crew that were involved in organising the day.

Thanks also to the many members from the other Branches that took part; your efforts were much appreciated.
